Keith Moody's report from the Jennings/Peggotty Cups

The county juniors competed for the first trophies of the season at Lincoln Golf Club playing for the Jennings and Peggoty Cups. As usual the competition organiser John Hodge had laid on some excellent early spring weather, the club's staff had prepared the course to a very high standard and the club's ladies provided refreshments at the half way house so there was no excuse left for the players not to score well. They didn't disappoint - some very good golf was witnessed by the spectators in the company of the club's captain Barry Bagnall and lady captain June Willows who were also present to present the prizes. The full result and photographs are published elsewhere but the highlight of the day was the performance of Josh Payne who shot a level par gross 71 for a net 66 to claim both the best gross and best net prizes. The girls prizes were claimed by sisters Ellie and Izzy Haughton. Ellie took the best gross with a score of 89 whilst Izzy's  net 74 was good enough to take second place.
